Diagram for Large Hooded Cloak by eqos Diagram for Large Hooded Cloak by eqos
For this pattern: [link]

If you repost this image, give me credit and link back to this page. It takes a fair amount of work to draft patterns, so give me the credit and don't be a dick!

A diagram of how to put it together.

One thing I didn't put on there, because I wasn't sure how to draw it clearly, is that you should pleat or gather the shoulder seam so that it fits nicely across your shoulders (or whoever will wear it), because the measurement is much too wide for most humans.

Ok so i am converting this to go with a plague Dr costume i created from vinyl and hemp twine. I am using black burlap and hemp twine to make the robe, i also had to convert 60" into 48" so its a bit challenging, ill post pictures later. I am trying to be done today. i started it at 10pm its 12:34am

A pleat or gather can be indicated with a pair of dots joined by a wavy line.  I don't necessarily know how you'd represent that, because I'm no photoshop/illustrator master... but that's one way to do it.

This... is amazing! Thank you so much! Still having a hard time picturing how any of the hoods end up like they do (I just spend the last half hour browsing your stuff, heh) but that is entirely not you fault! I just... I'm great with seeing how shapes come together--but only in two dimensions; the second any or all of them become flexible, I'm lost. My mom calls it "soccer ball syndrom." :P Thanks for posting this, and here's hoping I get it right! :D

Don't worry, hoods are easier than they seem. You'll get the hang of it :)

im confused, on the hood do you fold it left to right then sew the top?
eqos Featured By Owner Sep 5, 2012   Artisan Crafter
Yes. You fold it in the middle (where the dotted line is shown here), and then sew the top closed.

I'm just a wee bit confused with the sleeves do you cut 2 pieces for each sleeve or is it one piece per sleeve folded over?
eqos Featured By Owner Jul 16, 2012   Artisan Crafter
It is one piece folded over for each sleeve.
