Easiest pattern ever.

A drawstring goes in the neckline and at the cuffs of the sleeves. Can be drawn to adjust to fit nearly any size, up to 56" bust/waist/hips.

I am curious to hear your take on this, but I've always thought that the raglan-sleeve construction of this style chemise was more fabric-frugal, and therefore (probably) more period considering the relative price of fabric over the ages. The raglan sleeve construction eliminates the waste of the neck-hole fabric, and doesn't require sleeve gussets, making for more efficient use of fabric. That's how I've always constructed my chemises, anyway.

Yes, the raglan sleeve is better in the ways that you've mentioned. I'm just not good at drafting it.

Perfectly valid! It's something I've always kinda' made up on the fly, to be honest.

I know I'll figure it out sometime, just have to sit down and do it.

Here's a tutorial I found when I first set my mind to figure it out. [link] I'll admit, the first time I assembled one, I thoroughly confused myself several times. The second time, it seemed so easy, I was sure I was doing something wrong(As it turns out, I wasn't :D). But really, after the initial confusion, it's the simplest thing ever.

Also, I apologize for the unsolicited advice, but I hope it came across as helpful rather than snooty.
